The III logo is extremely simple by design. It seemingly deserves barely a glance. But the word logos implies a higher entity. The following is from Brittanica.com:
Logos, (Greek: “word,” “reason,” or “plan”) plural logoi, in ancient Greek philosophy and early Christian theology, the divine reason implicit in the cosmos, ordering it and giving it form and meaning. Although the concept is also found in Indian, Egyptian, and Persian philosophical and theological systems, it became particularly significant in Christian writings and doctrines as a vehicle for conceiving the role of Jesus Christ as the principle of God active in the creation and the continuous structuring of the cosmos and in revealing the divine plan of salvation to human beings. It thus underlies the basic Christian doctrine of the preexistence of Jesus.
Here is the hidden or esoteric significance behind the logo for the Influential Information Institute.
The oval that encapsulates it is similar to many familiar corporate logos: Intel, Samsung, Kleenex, Dupont, Ford…
In our 3D world an oval is found in the form of a medicine capsule; something to swallow and digest to elicit change or a desired effect.
This is the power of the generic form.
In the mythology of the film “The Matrix” the red and blue pills offer paths to enlightened truth, or placid reality. But the fact that the pills are colored obscures the duality of this black and white choice.
Our website, like our logo, is in black and white. This is our acknowledgment of the illusory world which is framed for us by others. Answers are either right or wrong. Sides are “with us” or “against us”.
This is known as dualism. We try to stay away from using “isms” here because they are typically used to package up a tangent of thoughts so they can be conveniently discarded before any redeeming aspects can be considered.
At III we are all about the gray matter. If ever our black letters in white space declare an absolute position you should know that it is still open to debate and we are just trying to streamline the thought process. In the mythology of the III the answer to, “How many colors of pills are there?” would be the same as the answer to, “How many humans will ever exist in all eternity?”.
Science is currently unable to verify the shape of the universe among many things, but we can observe planetary orbits that are ellipsoid and galaxies that spiral in elongated spherical forms. Nature is usually quite consistent from the micro to the macro. It’s unfortunate that our science cannot arbitrate a solution.
The universe contained within the oval of our logo is a large capital I in the center with two more on either side of diminishing proportions.
The surface layer to this iconography is that this logo represents the Influential Information Institute (III). There are three “I” clearly represented in the logo. The smallest, at the ends, are small enough to appear as embellishment unless the logo is displayed in a large format.
This element might nag at an observant viewer.
In architecture the capital “I” is represented by the pillar or column. In the architecture of the logo these columns are holding the roof of the oval off the floor of the oval. The diminishing scale of the capitals creates the potential of a 3D image with the smaller letters representing distance. This layer of vision opens the possibility of an infinite number of columns holding up an infinite size roof. It is simply too far to see from the current vantage point.
The largest “I” in the center is you. The III is all about you. We believe the individual is the most important thing in the world. The smaller “I’s” beside it acknowledge the presence of other individuals. When we think of different groups, organizations, coalitions, countries; these are some great examples of individuals coming to some agreement; finding common ground. And good for them! However, they do not supersede the importance of the individual. Within the confines of the oval, they must strike up a relation to each other. Without some agreement all the pillars implode, collapsing the universe, and nothing exists but the void.
Spock’s creed “The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few” is a great concept to weigh social decisions with, but it should be the one or the few that acknowledge its value. It should not be imposed by the many.
For another pop culture reference; in the abstract our logo looks the “Eye of Sauron”. So, are we actually the good guys or the bad guys? You’ll never really know if this is Big Brother manipulating you into our reptilian conspiracy or just some thoughtful analysis of reality.
